Vapor barrier compliance is one of the most critical applications for poly sheeting in construction. Building codes across the country require polyethylene vapor retarders under concrete slabs on grade and in crawl spaces to prevent moisture migration that causes mold, structural damage, and indoor air quality problems. The standard requirement is 6 mil polyethylene sheeting meeting ASTM E1745 specifications, which classifies vapor retarders into Class A, B, and C based on tensile strength, puncture resistance, and permeance. Our 6 mil LDPE sheeting meets these requirements for the vast majority of residential and commercial applications.

Dust and debris containment is another major use of poly sheeting on construction and renovation sites. Renovation contractors use 4-6 mil sheeting to create temporary barriers that contain dust, debris, and airborne particles during demolition, drywall work, and sanding operations. These barriers protect occupied areas of buildings during phased renovations and are often required by project specifications and building management companies. We supply sheeting in rolls up to 20 feet wide for covering large openings without seams.

Construction debris disposal requires heavy-duty trash liners that standard household or commercial liners cannot match. Nails, screws, wood splinters, broken tile, and drywall scraps puncture lightweight liners instantly. Our heavy-gauge construction liners in LDPE are built for this abuse — thick enough to resist puncture from sharp debris and strong enough to hold the weight of mixed construction waste without splitting. Available in sizes from 33 gallon for work area cleanup to 95 gallon for dumpster liners.

Building material protection is a constant concern on job sites where products stored outdoors are exposed to rain, wind, sun, and dust. Pallet covers protect lumber, drywall, insulation, and other weather-sensitive materials during outdoor storage. Our covers are available in sizes for standard pallet dimensions with heights that accommodate tall loads, in gauges heavy enough to withstand wind and weather on active construction sites.

Pallet Covers

Protect building materials stored outdoors on job sites from rain, UV exposure, and dust. Available in standard pallet sizes with extra height for tall loads of lumber, drywall, and roofing materials. Heavy-gauge options in 2-4 mil resist wind uplift and provide weather protection for extended outdoor storage. Clear for quick material identification or black for UV protection.

Compliance & Standards

Our products meet the regulatory requirements that construction & building packaging companies depend on.

ASTM E1745 compliant sheeting available for vapor retarder applications under concrete slabs and in crawl spaces, meeting Class A, B, or C requirements.

6 mil poly sheeting meets most residential and commercial building codes for under-slab vapor barriers — the most commonly specified vapor retarder thickness.

Heavy-gauge bags (3-4+ mil) for sharp and heavy construction materials including fasteners, hardware, and demolition debris.

Large-format sheeting up to 20 ft wide x 100 ft long for commercial projects, temporary enclosures, and weather protection barriers.

ASTM D4397 — Our polyethylene sheeting conforms to the Standard Specification for Polyethylene Sheeting for Construction, Industrial, and Agricultural Applications.

Fire-retardant sheeting options available for applications where building codes or project specifications require flame-resistant temporary barriers.

Lead paint renovation containment — sheeting suitable for EPA RRP Rule containment requirements during lead paint disturbance in pre-1978 buildings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about poly bags and packaging for construction & building packaging.

Most building codes require 6 mil polyethylene sheeting for vapor barriers under concrete slabs and in crawl spaces. Our 6 mil LDPE sheeting meets ASTM E1745 requirements. Some high-performance building specifications call for 10 mil or 15 mil vapor barriers — contact us for heavier gauge options. Always verify your local building code requirements, as some jurisdictions have specific requirements beyond the standard 6 mil.

Yes. 4 mil poly sheeting works well for temporary dust barriers and containment during renovation and demolition. Available in rolls up to 20 ft wide, allowing you to cover large openings without seams. For dust containment during occupied building renovations, we recommend 4 mil as the minimum gauge — it provides adequate dust containment while being easy to cut, tape, and hang. Use 6 mil for longer-duration or heavy-traffic containment areas.

Use 1.5-2+ mil trash liners in 55-95 gallon sizes for construction debris. Our heaviest commercial liners handle nails, screws, wood scraps, drywall pieces, broken tile, and mixed construction waste. For particularly sharp debris like broken glass or sheet metal scraps, use the heaviest gauge available. Reinforced bottom seals prevent blowouts when bags are lifted or carried by cleanup crews.

Standard lumber pallets are 48"x48" and stack 6-8 feet high. Choose a pallet cover that matches the pallet footprint with height that exceeds your typical load height by at least 12 inches to allow tucking under the load. Our covers range from 48" to 97" tall. For tall lumber stacks, we can manufacture custom-height covers. Use 2-3 mil minimum for outdoor job site storage.

Yes. Black poly sheeting is the most commonly specified color for under-slab vapor barriers, as it blocks all light transmission and is easily visible during building inspection. We stock black 6 mil sheeting in standard construction roll sizes. Black sheeting is also used for weed barrier under landscape applications and for temporary light-blocking barriers during construction.

Yes. We deliver throughout Los Angeles County to job sites, lumber yards, building material distributors, and contractor supply houses. Local delivery available on stock items for construction operations in the greater LA area. For job sites, we can deliver to the specific address with low minimums on stock sheeting and bags.

Standard LDPE sheeting is a single layer of polyethylene film. Cross-laminated barriers use multiple layers of polyethylene laminated together with the grain direction alternating between layers, providing significantly higher puncture and tear resistance. For most residential and standard commercial applications, 6 mil LDPE meets code requirements. Cross-laminated barriers are specified for high-performance buildings, heavy-traffic slab areas, and applications where the vapor barrier will be exposed to significant construction activity before concrete is poured.

Yes. Fire-retardant poly sheeting is available for applications where building codes or project specifications require flame-resistant temporary barriers. FR sheeting meets NFPA 701 flame propagation test standards. Common applications include temporary construction barriers in occupied buildings, stage and event draping, and temporary enclosures in commercial buildings with fire code requirements.
